Our People

We go for world class quality in our art. We believe the difference makes the art. And our people are everything. We never stop believing in our amazing people.

We want you to know the story behind those who work at Chickenshed – so each month there will be a different member of staff profiled; and of course you can always click on the names of the people opposite to find out more.

Our Trustees, chaired by Sylvia Coleman of EMI Music, are a wonderfully diverse and interesting group of people. Our President of Trustees is The Lady Rayne who, with her family and in particular her late husband Lord Rayne, have helped turn our dreams into a reality. To find out more about our Trustees, and why they support us so loyally, click on their names.

I first met Chickenshed at All Saints Hall in Whetstone in 1984 ish - I think! via a production of "Peer Gynt" which involved some Chickenshed members and also some of Jo's beautiful music (+ some of Mary's wacky choreography)! It turned into a sort of love affair (with the usual amounts of laughter & tears along the way) and here I still am - 24 years on - loving every day! No two days are ever the same - and I've done a multitude of different jobs along the way (often with my loved ones in tow) - but nowadays I mainly look after Mary & David - with a splash of Front of House + volunteering thrown into the cocktail. There have been a myriad of changes and most of the time it's all been great (I tend to go with the flow) - but thoughts of typing in Mary's kitchen after her family had gone in the morning (or not as the case may be!) - among the remains of cereal bowls and half-eaten crusts from toast are still very fond memories and although many moons ago from our lovely theatre here in Southgate - it reminds me that the basic "things" are still the same - and a lot of the same people are still around too on this rather incredible journey!
