of people, who find themselves
unwelcome elsewhere, come to us.

Chickenshed is a real theatre for real people. Our staffing costs are high because we deliver a programme that ensures everyone gets the support they need. We make sure anyone can access our service. And we also subsidise membership and ticket prices – because Chickenshed is open to everyone.

There’s no funding to cover our running costs from The Arts Council of England or London Arts Board. We rely on the loyalty of audiences for part of our almost £3 million annual turnover – 15% of our income comes from the Chickenshed box office. But the rest is – and always has been – down to you. Corporates, Trusts, Foundation and individuals, all invest hard-earned funds with us.
